ALD Automotive has successfully completed the acquisition of 100% of LeasePlan, one of the world’s leading fleet management and mobility companies, from a consortium led by TDR Capital.
This transformative acquisition represents a step-change which positions the combined group as the leading global sustainable mobility player with total fleet of 3.3 million vehicles managed worldwide. By joining forces, ALD Automotive and LeasePlan will lead the way to net zero and further shape the digital transformation of the industry. The combined entity will leverage on scale and complementary capabilities to strengthen its competitiveness and deliver sustained growth.
To keep leading the strategic development in Bulgaria, Tim Albertsen, Chief Executive Officer of ALD Automotive | LeasePlan, has appointed Pedro Dias as Country Managing Director following is role as chief executive officer of the Bulgarian entity since 2020.
Pedro Dias is one of the key talents selected from both ALD Automotive and LeasePlan who is best positioned to successfully deliver the strategic development growth targeted in the coming months and years.
Biography
Pedro Dias began his career in Portugal back in 1995 at Opel as a Sales, Finance & Insurance Manager before moving to Multirent, a national leasing provider, in 2001 as a Sales Consultant.
He joined ALD Automotive in Portugal in 2002 as a Sales executive for both corporate and retail sales and went on to become Marketing and Partnerships Director in 2008 in charge of business development, strategic sales and private lease implementation. In 2018, Mr. Dias was appointed Senior International Key Account Manager for ALD, managing global accounts, and acting as regional sales coach for France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Algeria, before joining ALD Bulgaria in 2020.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the Instituto Português de Administração de Marketing (IPAM) and an MBA from ISEG - University of Lisbon.
